This is an excellent property with easy access to all the main tourist attractions. Furthermore, the hotel has a splendid piano bar and terrace. Location The hotel can be found in the heart of Florence, a few steps away from the Duomo and main railway station. It is perfectly located for easy access to all of Florence's major sights. Distance 8 kms to the nearest airport (peretola airport) 1 km to the nearest station (firenze s.m. novella) 1 km to the nearest fair site (fortezza da basso) Rooms All the rooms are large and contain blue carpets with an orange design. The bedrooms are elegant and well refined, in a typical Florentine style. All rooms are carpeted, with 'fresco' paintings on the wooden headboards. The bedspreads and the curtains are co-ordinated in pastel colours. Every floor has red Tuscan tiles with creamy stucco reach to the high vaulted ceilings. Restaurant The restaurant is very elegant, decorated in cream colours, giving a comfortable and quiet atmosphere. During the summer a garden restaurant is also available. Exterior The building has typical Florentine architecture dating from the sixteenth century, with beautiful wood carvings, various flags flying outside and an imposing entrance. Lobby The lobby is large, elegantly furnished and very well decorated. The floor is polished marble covered with ornate Persian rugs. There is a grand piano in the corner and several large gold-leaf chandeliers. There is a large variety of seating, from black leather sofas and armchairs to handmade wooden chairs with wicker backs.
